Can my situation fire my for showing up to court? ?
I'm getting a divorce and I work at a toy store. The store that I work for will not let me have time bad because of the busy shopping season.
Can my situation force me to work on my days planned rotten?
Can they? Will I get in trouble for not returning the beckon?
Can my supervisor tender me a fruitless review for invovling HR surrounded by our situation?
My supervisor is very pushy ever since i came final after being off for 14 days due to a medical condition. With this self said, she and the Senior VP wrote me up for unexcused absence "even though i brought in a doctors excuse." After that things newly got very unpromising. She would speak to me with disrespect in a refusal tone, everything i did was wrong, always asking what i am doing simply nick picking for no reason. So I go to the Senior VP told what was going on and he said he didn't want to get involved we needed to find some passageway to work it out. I then went to my supervisor and tried to tell to her and she just blew me off. I feel like i needed to just verbs to another department i spoke to the VP again and he told me he didn't want to lose me and that was not an option. I feel like they were trying to trap me or create me quit so i then went to HR told them what the situation be and they were already aware of it due to a friend i ahve that work in HR told them nearly something brewing in my department but didn't tell them my first name. I had my meeting she have her meeting and all of a sudden she and the VP be in a meeting trying to find a track to fire me per my friend in HR. They couldn't fire so they changed my job descriptions and added more responsibilities and be dated the day i filed a complaint next to HR. I had my annual review meeting beside her and got a poor rating. She explained that i took off 27 days stale and I figured they were any doctor excused or vacation i was never written up previously my write up i just received for my medical condition. She also explained that my co-workers are complaining i don't get the reports set which is untrue because i am the first one in (a) 7am. Then she said well i could hold fired you because my swipe card clocked me coming in a few (a) 2-3 minutes after 7 but didn't want to because I am good worker but I get a negative review why not fire me for that. All this is retaliation for talking to HR which didn't serve at all what should i do because they will not help?
Can my wife work at another opening while on short-term disability?
To make a long story short...my wife already has a lower backbone problem and we are expected our first child. The doctor put her on a weight restriction due to her back. She is a messages room clerk at her insurance company. So she can't leave over 10 lbs. Remember the restriction is due to her back and pregnancy. So HR told her to do this other charge until the other person comes back (we don't know when she will come back). When she does come pay for she has to use the Family Medical Leave Act and go on a short permanent status pay of 26-weeks and then we later baby comes she can go on long-term. Well, we are wondering can she pick up another employment? This would be something part time since she will be at home twiddling her thumbs. She is healthy ample it is just the job she is doing does require some lifting.

My work has a policy that if you call within sick (unscheduled absence) the day before or after a firm holiday (like Thanksgiving, 4th of July, etc), you don't bring paid for the day stale (even though you would have otherwise received pay)! Is that even legal within California?
