Well, depends on your education. Sounds like you still inevitability a steady income. If you have a BA and are willing to trade name the effort, you can try technical writing to catch into the field. It does pay the bills...I know...be doing it for 20 years :). To break into the field, you'll need some leniency and persistence though like building a portfolio of token work. Google technical writing careers and revise more. But I can't gaurantee the less stress LOL...there ARE deadline involved with this career and steep research curves if you start by working in the software industry. (Yes, tech writers work in other industries too similar to finance, engineering, legal, and medical. Check to see if your employer or a related industry shop uses tech writers or editors too.) But if you're willing to freelance (while keeping your main duty for now), you might be able to break into it and get some reference and portfolio work built up.
i agree with an answerer, logical writer would be good, or how about a trial advice columnist in a thesis or magazine? You definately have the smarts and would be helping people as in good health as being objective and putting thoughts out in that. Of course you can't actually "offer" legal suggestion but you could talk about the issues you know give or take a few i would think. (I'm thinking things like Nancy Grace, Slate). Things approaching that. You're in a great city with full potential of unsullied things. I want to get into writing but I'm still trying to figure out what to do beside my life at 21. Wish you the best in adjectives the endeavors. God bless!
LOL OMG You are my long lost twin! Here is what will take the edge bad. One very deep bubble hip bath, candles, cup of favorite tea or glass of wine and favorite light jazz or instrumental/dance music on low - 30 - 45 minutes - next get up and go sit at the desk, table, favorite writing spot and write. in the order of anything, everything. whatever comes to mind. your starting sentence is: "I am writing this because i want to get posterior into writing. there are several things that have be in my way. The top 3 are (in no extraordinary order): ..." Force yourself to write, even a little. Before you know it, you will be writing real stuff. after, go to the library and check out a copy of a Writer's Market, and start querying your butt bad. As time goes by you will eventually get a following. In the connote time, write a few chapters of that great american novel. when you are all set, query it. oh, and don't forget to mention me in the acknowledgements! :-P
